Location: Near the round-a-bout on Shelter Island

Pacific portal also serves as a gathering spot for picnics and other events.  The title of this art piece comes from its location near the entrace of the San Diego Bay channel leading to the Pacific Ocean.  The Pacific Portal replaced the wooden gazebo that sottd at the same location for 27 years. 

The new gazebo stands 24 feet tall and has a width of 29 feet and provides peltny of space for events.  It is built from steel reinforced concrete and features a mosaic tile ceiling and tiled pathways.
